Recently I got to be a guest on the Getting Candid With Rochie show. Rochie, for those of you who do not know, is the person behind TheFrugalista Mom Blog. I had so much fun talking with Rochie about all our tips and tricks for Thanksgiving. I was even able to share an easy stovetop cooking dressing/or stuffing recipe we featured on this episode. Keep reading for the full recipe, or hop on over to The Frugalista Mom YouTube channel and watch the Thanksgiving Episode.
You will need:
1 loaf approx 15 oz. of Gluten-free bread 1/2 inch diced pieces ( can sub cornbread or any bread you can eat)
1 to 1-1/2 cup of Chicken broth or Vegetable broth (depending on how moist you want the stuffing)
1 large onion diced approx 1 cup I am using a red onion
2 large stalks of Celery dices approx 1 cup
2-3 tablespoons of allergy-free “butter” or oil
1 teaspoon Basil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
1 teaspoon ground Sage
½ teaspoon ground Thyme
Let's Get Started
In a medium-sized pan on the stovetop, place “butter”/or oil in a pan and allow to meltdown over medium heat. Then add in onions, celery, and seasonings sautee for 8-10 minutes. Add in 1 cup of the broth that you have already heated up in the microwave or stovetop. Reserve the ½ cup of broth to determine if you need to add.
Then add in the diced bread and stir till completely moistened and heated through approx 5 minutes. You can serve immediately or choose to put in a 350-degree oven and cook a few minutes to get a crispy top layer and sides.
It was so fun getting to be candid with Rochie, to share our mutual love for family and food! I know I had so much fun, and I can’t wait to hang out virtually with her again. I hope this recipe helps to tame your Allergy Dragon so that you may have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. Feel free to share this post, like, comment, and subscribe.
